MoCCA 2005
Ok. Time for a new post. Yay, New York. It was hot and humid, very much like I left Texas. So no change there.
Thanks to Dalton for hanging with me all weekend. Big thanks to Dave and Raina for putting up with us for a long weekend.

I'll be brief and just post a bunch of pictures per usual (sorry if I screw up names or just screw up in general. I'm posting from work and I am stupid). My plane got into LaGuardia after lunch on Thursday, then I did some bus riding and walking. After that there was sushi with Raina. A quick dash through Times Square. A visit to Dave's work where I picked up my books to sell at the show. Finally we went to a belated birthday dinner for them.

Mmm. Pizza.

Abby, Matt L., Steve

Marion. I think this is part of Times Square.

John, Marion, Steve and Matt after some ice cream

Matt H. after a whole lot of ice cream

Dave at home on Friday. I think he's about to head in to work.

Raina trying to get some inking done.

Dalton finally got in sometime in the afternoon then John took me and Dalton to the Maurice Sendak exhibit.
Then we walked around Central Park.

Then we went to the Natural History Museum for some Dinosaurs.

Also the Giant Whale room.

Awesome.

Dalton in the swamp

Some kinda flying bat monster. His face was cool.

Dalton and John

Bones

Benjamin eating some pasta on Friday night. Some of my "dark" photos turned out kinda crappy.
I forgot to set up my manual camera settings. Auto is not your friend.

The flash is a last resort. I'm pretty sure everyone is commenting on the exhibitionist across the way.

Raina did a good getting everyone together. The food was very good at all the places she picked for us to eat.

neon fish

Everyone is full. Now to go sleep it off for the big day.

Saturday at MoCCA. It was hot and humid indoors too.

Dalton, ready to sell stuff

Dalton and Henry

Jim

Chris and Josh watch over the AdHouse table

Robin and MK. Yay Catfight!

Kate and Justin. Just Mad. Though they look happy or scared.

Our hosts went to the Harvey awards so John and Marion were very kind enough to entertain us while that was going on. To escape the rain we ducked into Papaya King. Hotdogs are made out of beef.

Then we went to the market for beer and popcorn.

Black popcorn that pops snow white. We got kettle corn instead. We then crashed out on their couch for a few hours watching tv before heading back to Dave and Raina's.

Getting ready Sunday morning.

Walking to the subway.

Austin and Dylan

Erin talking to Dalton

Top Shelf. Andy signing stuff.

Dalton talks to Cori and Tyler.

Matt H. hanging with Raina and Dave.

The whole goraina/yaytime/cryptic/no-inbetween conglomerate.

Our table on Sunday. I only had a few copies of Punish the Dead left on Sunday morning, I was out of them and most of my other stuff by the end.

Ryan S. making this photo worth keeping

Bye bye A55.

Erin shows off her war wound

Andy, Ryan and Rosemary

Alixopulos (I think), Bak and an Angry Dylan*
(*We've been informed that this is actually "sexy cat walk Dylan", we apologize for the error. -ed)

Subway home

More dark pictures. This time from an organic food place.

Dinosaur Ryan and Rosemary

Dalton, Dave and Rich

Rich

Raina

Lets try it again with the flash.

Marion tells a story under the blue stars in the trees.

Monday breakfast before our flight home.

Yay! I'm glad too. Thank you very much again. It was awesome. The picture of you inking, the hotdog picture, and Marion telling her story in front of Spring Street are probably my favorite ones. Wish I didn't have to post them so small. I'm running them all as my screen saver at home. It's kinda like I'm still there.

I need a bigger memory card for next time.

I can't get used to seeing myself with that cochlear implant on my head.

I'll be posting pics tomorrow. I was too groggy this morning to remember to bring my camera to work and upload pics.

PS: I have some great night photos. But no pics of the shower girl.

I think the implant is cool. You could be a cyborg. Cyborgs rock.

Even when they burn popcorn. :)

Hey Andy! It looked pretty busy for you over at the bar all weekend. Hope you didn't get worn out. Also, here's hoping for light jacket weather at SPX!

It was pretty busy and it was difficult to easily leave the bar so I never got a chance to walk around. Not that I'm complaining... but from the pics I can see all the stuff I missed. So, here's to light jackets and walk around time (but not too much) at SPX! ;)

I am always hungry! They should make a hot dog wrapper with comics you can read after you eat it.

Awesome photos, Toby! And it was cool to meet you on Saturday night, even though I was practically nodding off into my taco salad :)

Hey Rosemary, it was nice to meet you! You put up a good front, I thought you seemed awake compared to me. Though I apparently found energy enough to dance in the street before all awakeness and hope of gelato was dashed.

Then Dalton kept trying to take pictures of me sleeping on the subway, but my camera-sense is keen so he loses.

Damn Toby's camera sense! Every time he nodded off, he would wake up when I tried to take a pic of him sleeping on the subway.

I documented the sadness of no gelato.

Awwwwww. You don't know how close Michelle and I were to skipping out on work and flying to New York. Noah (senior ed. on AG) is in NY for the summer with his girlfriend, so we'd have had a place to stay, but we ultimately decided to stay in N.O. Saturday was our two-year anniversary, so we went to dinner at Jacques-Imo's (which is where we're DEFINITELY going to dinner next time you're here).

Dammit, though, MOCCA would've been fun.

That woulda been cool to see you in NYC though!
